Face Everything and Rise (F.E.A.R)

Sometimes we find ourselves doing things we know aren't good for us, staying up late scrolling on our phones, and eating mindlessly, but we keep doing them anyway, against our better judgment. Keep in mind that sometimes your thoughts tell you important and useful information about yourself. For instance, you might think, Hmmm, I really should get out and exercise. That kind of voice is not the problem. Usually, however, there are other, negative voices attaching a huge amount of judgment to such thoughts—I’m lazy, I’m ugly, I’m bad, and so on. Learning to be less susceptible to these negative voices and cultivating loving-kindness for yourself does not mean ignoring the wisdom that comes from seeing yourself clearly.

Learning to be less susceptible to these negative voices and cultivating loving-kindness for yourself does not mean ignoring the wisdom that comes from seeing yourself clearly. If you are like me and look back through our life, we can probably remember dozens of times when we felt afraid: our first day at a new school, our first driving lesson, our first date, our first job, and so on. And each time this happened, what we didn’t realise early doors that behind each fear we felt was an opportunity to learn and grow.

As we got older, we start to question that logic or even start listening to others but if we approach it in the right way if it’s what we most want to do, and if we gain the right skills, then even something scary can become an adventure!

When we understand that what we call a ‘crisis’ is really an opportunity, and that our purpose and values are a recipe for becoming fully who we truly are, then we are ready to learn that what we call ‘Fear’ is actually an opportunity to Face Everything And Rise.

Don’t let that ‘inner negativity’ define your life, or any other person for that matter, Face Everything And Rise.
